What is FÉCHAM?

FÉCHAM was founded in 1983 to serve and represent the housing co‑operatives of the region south of Montreal. There are nearly 90 member co‑ops in FÉCHAM.

How is FÉCHAM run?

FÉCHAM is governed by a board of five directors. The federation employs two full-time staff members.

• Financial, insurance, planning, and administration services
• Sweep-account investment pooling

Trained instructors give a wide-range of workshops in co‑operative living and management. In partnership with CQCH, the federation participates in the administration of co‑op operating agreements for programs on behalf of the Quebec Housing Corporation.

By taking part in acitivites organized in Quebec by CQCH, as well as those organized nationally by CHF Canada, FÉCHAM lobbies on behalf of co‑operatives in Quebec, A staff member represents the association at CHF Canada’s Federations Committee.
