Co‑operative Housing Federation of Canada
In 1999 Manitoba housing co‑ops decided to receive local services through a Winnipeg-based office of CHF Canada. Together they agreed to close down the regional federation. With CHF Canada’s help, they decided how the new regional office would be organized and what it would do. CHF Canada’s office in Winnipeg opened in January 2000.
The Manitoba office offers the following services to CHF Canada members:
One part-time employee serves as the director in CHF Canada’s Winnipeg office, works closely with the Manitoba Advisory Forum, and reports to CHF Canada’s Director of Corporate Affairs.
Manitoba Advisory Forum
The Manitoba members developed an Advisory Forum structure to oversee the operations of the Manitoba Office. The Forum holds regular meetings throughout the year.
Staff Networking Luncheons
The CHF Canada Manitoba Office hosts regular Staff Networking Luncheons that offer ongoing educational and networking opportunities for housing co‑op staff.
The CHF Canada Manitoba office delivers a local education program for members of Manitoba region co‑ops.
NewsBriefs, Manitoba Edition
Newsbriefs, Manitoba Edition, is a newsletter published to inform members about news, issues and events that affect Manitoba housing co‑operatives.
